when kaycee was born, her parents, who were eighteen and twenty, realized they were not ready for a child, let alone twins, and gave her and her brother up to an adoption facility. while she grew, she realized that her parents were not coming back for her, like she'd always dreamed and that set the wheels in motion.
one day, when she was nine years old, she was getting extremely tired of being alone and deserted in the world, and she was sick of living in an orphanedge. while everyone was sleeping, she decided she would jump out the third story window, where her room was located, and she would never have to deal with anything ever again. and she was fine with that. but as she was about to jump, her twin brother, alex, stopped her, and suggested they go together. and, as they both were about to jump, another child had woke and told on them. they were both sent to the ground level, to live for years to follow, never allowed out of a staff or helpers' sight. they didnt mind after the first few weeks, but the first few weeks were hell. they were followed everywhere they went. which is where her magic started to kick in. the muggles she had been stored with, assumed that she and her brother were very different, and had magic potential.
when kaycee turned eleven, she stopped speaking. they decided to go easy on her after then, realizing she had some serious problems. but those problems, were only the beginning of her magical potential showing. she didnt speak still, unless she needed to, never freely, often forced. when kaycee and alex reached fourteen, she and the staff realized that he too had begun to act like kaycee, his magic potential growing rapidly, they were both relatively powerful. so they sent both of them away to Hogwarts, with high hopes of them helping her reach her full potential.
